Pros: Probably the most affordable way to make your driving experience better. Perfect for replacing your OEM speakers and designed for vehicles that don’t have a subwoofer. For the price these are best in category.

Cons: These are made to appeal to a wide range of listeners so if you consider yourself higher on the audiophile chart you should check out the Pioneer Z line of speakers instead.

Music For All
Offering a range of sizes the Pioneer D line of speakers was designed for easy installation in almost any vehicle. Taking advantage of the extensive research and design done for the Z line of speakers, Pioneer was able to create a setup that is perfect for those looking for better audio quality without having to add amplifiers. Designed to be able to be used without a subwoofer the D speakers offer a deeper level of bass with the component and coaxial systems.

For those that are looking for an easy upgrade from OEM speakers but still using the factory amplifier or just relying on the head unit, these are the speakers for you.

Features
26mm Polyester Soft Dome Tweeter
Contoured from lightweight, resin-impregnated fibers of coated polyester fabric, the D tweeter delivers extended high frequency performance. The 26mm diaphragm is extremely resistant to the harsh environmental conditions of the automotive interior (temperature, humidity, vibration, etc.), while maintaining its uniform hemispherical shape to reduce dome breakup due to excessive vibration at ultrasonic frequencies. The result is exceptionally low distortion levels and a smooth, natural sound.

Aramid Fiber Interlaced Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP)
Polypropylene (PP) is a tough thermoplastic resin, ideal material for a speaker cone. The low mass and high damping of a PP cone generate good sensitivity and low distortion. However, polypropylene cones lack the rigidity and strength required for high output and extreme low bass. To resolve this, Pioneer engineers used advanced Computer-Aided Manufacturing to develop a process to blend aramid fibers into the polypropylene resin during the injection molding process. The resulting aramid fiber interlaced IMPP cone is ultra-thin and low mass with high rigidity and superior strength, built to produce natural, detailed sound with deep and powerful bass.

Compact Swivel Tweeter with Tri-Position Mounting Kit
The D component speakers utilize the same unique swivel mount as the Z component speakers to ensure optimal tweeter placement and a superior listening experience.

Pioneer D Series subwoofer TS-D10D4
D Subwoofers – Foreceful, Deep, Defined
TS-D12D4 12″ Dual 4 ohm voice coil MSRP: $260.00
TS-D12D2 12″ Dual 2 ohm voice coil MSRP: $260.00
TS-D10D4 10″ Dual 4 ohm voice coil MSRP: $240.00
TS-D10D2 10″ Dual 2 ohm voice coil MSRP: $240.00

Features
Aramid Fiber Interlaced IMPP
The same aramid fiber interlaced IMPP developed by Pioneer for the D speaker cones is also an ideal material for subwoofer cones. Its use in the D subwoofers results in cones that are incredibly strong with low mass, high rigidity and superior strength to produce deep, powerful and undistorted bass.

Butyl Rubber Surround
Made of a specially blended, highly durable and moisture resistant compound, butyl rubber keeps the cone moving in a linear direction, seals the cone to the basket and quickly dampens cone vibration once the signal has changed or stopped. This results in less distortion and superior frequency response.

Large Diameter Voice Coil and Double Stacked Magnets
A subwoofer motor structure consists of the voice coil and magnet assembly. Increasing the diameter and length of the voice coil provides greater control of the woofer cone and higher power handling; however, to take full advantage, the magnet must also be increased both in magnetic power and physical size. The D subwoofer uses an oversized 4-layer voice coil and high energy double stacked magnets (TS-D12D4/TS-D12D2 use oversized 74.1 oz. double stacked magnets, TS-D10D4/TS-D10D2 use 56.4 oversized double stacked magnets) to increase the overall power handling and SPL output with no sacrifice in sound quality.
