[Update 4/10/19] Shortly after the release of of VLC 3.0 they had to roll back Android Auto functionality and removed this feature. However with the release of VLC 3.1 Android Auto compatibility has returned.
VLC is a cross-platform media player and streaming server that supports a large number of audio and video formats. Available for desktop and mobile, those that have large libraries of MP3 and FLACC files they would be able to stream them from wherever they are. Now people will be able to listen to their VLC music libraries while keeping their eyes on the road with the new Android Auto integration. Users will also be able to use all of the VLC player functions with the Google Assistant voice control.
