With the latest beta release of iOS 10.3 CarPlay is set to get two new features. The first will make it much easier to navigate around the various apps you commonly use. The current version of CarPlay requires that you go all the back to the home screen to select a different app.
With the upcoming version a shortcut will be permanently displayed, appearing along the left sidebar with your most recently used apps. The second feature is helpful for those with electric vehicles, Apple Maps will now display nearby EV charging stations.
No official release date has been announced but expect this update to be available in March or April.
