Sometimes there are convenience features that you think are a novelty until you actually use them e.g. keyless entry and push start. Nowadays it feels odd to have to pull your keys out of your pocket to start your car. Wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is one of those things you never thought you needed, but after using it for a few days you’ll never want to go back to plugging in.

Fortunately if you’re anything like us and like to make things easier, Pioneer has just released two wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible head units (AVH-W4400NEX and the AVIC-W8400NEX) and one wireless Apple CarPlay only head unit (AVIC-W6400NEX). We were able to get our hands on an AVIC-8400NEX, and just after a few days we are impressed with the way the Pioneer unit seamlessly connects with our phones, look for a comprehensive review as we spend some more time with it.
