Since the acquisition of Beats, Apple has been expanding their music streaming services. When Beats 1 launched on Apple Music it brought a mixture the traditional hosted shows as well as tapping into artists such as Frank Ocean, Elton John and Nicki Minaj to host their own shows as well.

Beats 1 first launched in 2015, since then Apple has gotten an estimated 68 million subscribers so it was time for a rebrand. Today Apple announced a name change, dropping the Beats name and just going with Apple Music Radio 1. With this they are also adding two new channels, Apple Music Country and Apple Music Hits.
