For an app that only just started coming pre-loaded into phones in May 2019, hitting 100,000,000 downloads is quite a feat. It was only after the release of Android 10 that the Android Auto app came pre-loaded in all phones, much like how Apple has included CarPlay in all phones since its initial release in iOS 7 (they are now on iOS 13.3).

In the short five years that Android Auto has been around it has definitely evolved along the way. The integration of Google Assistant, wireless functionality and redesigned user interface are all things we’ve seen in the recent years. Who knows what the future of Android Auto holds, we recently have seen BMW reverse their position by adding Android Auto to their newer models but the fact is more and more new vehicles will hit the road with Android Auto.
